Lose the Attitude

I like to think I'm a  mature adult and able to handle a challenge gracefully.  But, I have been such a brat lately!  I know you're as shocked as I am.  I'm not very proud of my behavior.   When your daughter tells you to behave, you know you're on thin ice.

Patience is bitter, but its fruit is sweet.

We've been here 40 days now (not that I'm counting.)  And we are still waiting for that magic phone call.  Matt has worked diligently and is doing everything he can to land that dream job.  He has made a lot of contacts and there are some very promising opportunities on the horizon.  I have total faith in him.

I am extraordinarily patient provided I get my own way in the end.

And in the mean time, he is sharing his home country with me.  I've looked in wonder at some of the most amazing sights.  (And forced you all to sit through the slideshows.)

It is a mistake to look too far ahead.
Only one link in the chain of destiny can be handled at a time.
-  Winston Churchill

His parents have opened up their home to us.  Every morning I wake up to the most spectacular view outside the window.

But I am still having such a hard time being patient.  Some days I just give over to that naughty inner child and pout.  Other days I curl up inside myself and disconnect from the world.  My poor hubby asked the other day if he could have the old Selena back.  I don't even want to hang out with me.

Have patience and endure; this unhappiness will one day be beneficial.

It is getting better.  I'm trying to behave and be patient.  I'm so excited about the next phase!  I can't even wait to see where we will be living next!  I know this waiting is a part of the process and it will come to an end.   I'm so thankful to have my family, friends and my health.  And as a dear friend lovingly reminded me...

Don't let it bring you down and don't lose sight of the wonder of your adventure.

  1. Patience, my friend... some things take a little more time than we planned, but when the plan finally works out, it will be great.

  2. I have one word for you my daughter: Exercise! That's right - get up each day and take a long walk. And when you are through, pinch yourself, then smack yourself up side the head, then take a look around and try to find anyone back here who feels sorry for you. You lucky girl.

All kidding aside, just take each day as it comes - live today - this minute - this second. And for Christ sake, be happy.

    Love you
